Applicable to Ford Transit New Generation Transit ABS Sensor Rear L JC19-2B372-CA

JC19-2B372-CA
The ABS sensor is the core component of the anti-lock braking system. Its main functions include: real-time monitoring of wheel speed, detecting changes in the speed of each wheel using high-precision sensors to determine if wheel lockup is imminent during braking, updating this data dozens of times per second to provide dynamic decision-making basis for the system, and controlling braking force adjustment. When a tendency for wheel lockup is detected, the sensor signal triggers the ABS control module to rapidly adjust the braking force, using high-frequency intermittent braking (60-120 times per second) to keep the wheels rolling, maximizing the use of road adhesion. This mechanism can shorten braking distance by 10%-30% while preserving steering ability. When the sensor malfunctions, the ABS system automatically shuts down and illuminates the malfunction indicator lamp, reverting to normal braking mode. The vehicle can still brake, but the anti-lock function is lost. However, it is important to note that ABS cannot be relied upon entirely, maintaining a safe following distance and a reasonable speed remains fundamental.
